Teen Patti hand rankings
A common comparison order for three-card Teen Patti. Always check the variant: sequence, ace and tie rules can differ.
Common high-to-low order
- 01
Trail / trio
Three cards of the same rank, such as three 8s.
- 02
Pure sequence
Three consecutive ranks in the same suit. Often called a straight flush.
- 03
Sequence
Three consecutive ranks in mixed suits. Also called a run or straight.
- 04
Colour
Three cards in the same suit that are not consecutive; often called a flush.
- 05
Pair
Two cards of the same rank plus a third card. The pair rank is usually compared first.
- 06
High card
No pair, sequence or colour. Compare the highest card first, then the next cards if required.
How ties are compared
Many rule sheets compare the ranks within a category, then compare kickers where applicable. The exact suit hierarchy, if any, is not universal. Do not assume that a suit breaks a tie unless the rules explicitly say so. Ace can be high or low in sequences; some tables allow A-2-3 as a low run, while others set a different order.
Illustrative combinations are not a prediction of a future deal. A deck shuffle is not made predictable by a previous hand.
Quick memory aid
Three of a kind → same-suit run → run → same suit → pair → high card. Use this as a learning shortcut, not a substitute for the specific game’s published rules.
