Read the download state
Open the browser’s Downloads list and check whether the attempt is active, paused, failed, cancelled or completed. Keep the wording of any error. A file in a folder is not necessarily the completed attempt you intended to use.
If several similarly named files exist, identify their source and status instead of choosing the one with the largest suffix.
Retry after identifying the cause
- Connection: check ordinary browsing and a stable connection.
- Space: review device storage if the message points there.
- Protection: keep a blocked-download message and seek an explanation rather than weakening browser or device protection.
- Completed item: use that item to locate the saved file before starting another transfer.
Move to the next stage deliberately
For a completed file, identify its extension and package format and use the installer checkpoints. If Android is already showing a package error, switch to that message’s branch.
